SPEAKING TOUR
Soleiman’s eldest brother, Yusuf Faqiri, has travelled across the country, speaking with experts, advocates, academics, and professional associations on the topics of mental health, solitary confinement, and the prison system.
He has spoken at universities and conferences across the nation, hosting workshops and seminars on his brother’s death. To date, Yusuf has shared his story with over 100,000 Canadians, from coast to coast.
“It’s the best way I’ve found to honour my late brother,” Yusuf says, adding “I’ll never stop.”
Some of the colleges and universities Yusuf has visited include Carlton, Dalhousie, Durham, Humber, Lakehead, McGill, McMaster, Queens, Ryerson, U. of Manitoba, U. of Montreal, U. of Ottawa, all three U. of Toronto campuses, U. of Windsor, U. of Winnipeg, Waterloo, Western, and York U.
