Webinars
Justice for Soli has joined hands with different organizations, such as Naseeha Mental Health and the Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies (CAEFS), to host online webinars that create a space for constructive discourse on the topics of mental health and prison reform. Through these webinars, the movement has created a platform for education and awareness on social issues, with a nexus in Soli’s death.
In spring 2020, Justice for Soli launched a weekly webinar series in association with Emilie Coyle, the Executive Director of the CAEFS. The series, hosted on Facebook Live, discusses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on prisoners and individuals suffering from mental illness. Guests have included Senator Kim Pate; former Canadian Supreme Court justice and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Madam Justice Louise Arbour; Mi’kmaw lawyer and social justice activist, Dr. Pamela Palmater; and human rights lawyer, Paul Champ.
